What is a scenic guided tour?

All of our tours are guided. This means that you are always following our guide who is in the front on his/her machine as they take you on the safest trails. You stay in their tracks and go where they go. We do guided tours because the sand dunes are always changing. The sand is soft and often unpredictable. If you don’t feel comfortable driving, you have the option to ride as a passenger as the guide drives the UTV. It is the booking party’s responsibility to educate the rest of your group so that when everyone arrives they know what to expect. We operate in the Coral Pink Sand Dune Recreation area. The Sand Dunes are over 5000 acres and cover a variety of trails and terrain.

How does pricing work?

You drive while following the guide. For example, if you are a party of 4, you would pay for one of you to be the driver and three of you would each pay the passenger rate. If you choose to just ride as passengers and have the guide drive, each person would pay the passenger price for whatever tour you choose. If you are wanting to switch out drivers, you still just pay one driver. All guests operating a machine must be 18 or older with a valid drivers license. Must physically have drivers license at check in. No exceptions.

What is a UTV side by side?

When choosing if you would like to drive a machine, a couple of things to remember is that this is a scenic tour. If you feel tense or uncomfortable with what you are driving you will most likely be hyper-focused on driving a less likely to enjoy the breathtaking views. Driving in the sand is a lot like snow. It has the same pull, sliding & tipping sensation as a snowmobile. The sand here is very soft so to avoid any accidents or tipping our machines over, we don’t allow fishtailing or donuts. When we climb hills you must apply more gas to carry you up and all the way over to avoid getting stuck.  At no point during the tour will drivers be allowed to free ride or explore the dunes on their own.

UTV Side by Side’s drive like a car. You are seat-belted in and have a roll bar overhead. They seat up to four people and you are seated side by side. Two in front and two in back. These are pretty easy to operate and handle really well in the sand. If you can drive a car, you most likely will be able to drive a UTV. You must be 18 or older with a valid driver’s license to drive and 3 years or older to be a passenger. Often our little guests need their booster seat to see out to avoid motion sickness. we recommend bringing their booster seat with you. UTV’s must have 2 people minimum for booking. If you are a solo traveler you are welcome to ride as a passenger with a guide driving or pay for one driver and one passenger to operate it yourself. A helmet must be worn by all guests while operating machines or riding as a passenger. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Other helpful information; We are located in Utah. Often our guests are crossing over into different time zones (AZ & NV). Make sure you know your time zone. An hour and a half from Bryce Canyon. An hour and 30 minutes from Page AZ. About three hours from Las Vegas.
